Nigerian rapper Evado dropped his long-awaited debut studio album Promise Land on March 27, 2026, and the streets haven’t stopped talking since. Chart climbs followed fast. IgboHipHop also flagged the album’s initial surge to a new peak of #14 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart that same Friday. Within days it pushed even higher, landing as high as #3 in the country. This marked its strongest showing yet for Evado.

On April 1, HypeTribe delivered the update everyone was waiting for: Promise Land had seized the No. 1 spot on the Nigeria Top Albums chart, knocking Wizkid and Asake’s joint Real EP off the throne. IgboHipHop doubled down the very next day, April 2, confirming the takeover and pointing out that the album had also eclipsed major releases from Fola (Catharsis), Seyi Vibez (Fuji Moto), and Asake’s Lungu Boy.
Spotify kept the momentum rolling. On April 4, AlbumTalksHQ reported that Promise Land debuted at #8 on the Nigeria Spotify Weekly Albums chart. It was the highest new entry of the week.
For an artist stepping into the full-length album game for the first time, these results hit different. Promise Land isn’t riding on hype alone. It is delivering the streams, the positions, and the cultural buzz that separate promising projects from the ones that actually move the needle. In a week when heavyweights were still dominating conversations, Evado carved out real space for himself and the Igbo hip-hop wave he represents.
