As the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, Sony Music West Africa has announced the return of its flagship Women’s Month initiative, Bloom & Bloom. The platform is designed to celebrate and empower women shaping Africa’s creative and business landscape. With each new edition, Bloom & Bloom continues to grow beyond a symbolic celebration into a meaningful cultural platform that connects influence, access, and opportunity across multiple industries.
Inspired by this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” the 2026 edition encourages a shift in how success is viewed. Rather than focusing on individual achievements, the initiative highlights the value of collective growth driven by mentorship, collaboration, and shared resources. Bloom & Bloom explores how women supporting and investing in one another can strengthen industries, expand professional networks, and create legacies that endure over time. By emphasizing ownership, partnership, and long term thinking, the program reflects the evolving role of women within Africa’s rapidly growing creative economy.

Greenhouse Panel Sessions

The experience begins on March 19 with the Greenhouse Panel Sessions, an intimate forum designed to spark thoughtful and honest conversations among influential voices across Africa’s creative and entrepreneurial spaces. The sessions will bring together founders, executives, creators, and cultural leaders to discuss topics such as intellectual property ownership, building sustainable creative businesses, and transforming creative talent into lasting institutions.
This year’s lineup features respected figures from different sectors including Mimi Chaka, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, Odunayo Eweniyi, Tosin Ajibade, Alex Asogwa, and Victoria Nkong. Drawing from their professional journeys, the speakers will share insights on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship across music, media, technology, and culture. Collectively, they represent a growing generation of women redefining influence and opportunity within Africa’s creative industries.

Bloom & Bloom Mixer

The program concludes on March 20 with the Bloom & Bloom Mixer, an invitation only evening gathering that brings together professionals from music, film, fashion, technology, media, and entrepreneurship. While celebratory in nature, the event is also designed to foster meaningful relationships that can lead to collaborations, mentorship opportunities, partnerships, and investments that extend well beyond Women’s Month.
Bloom & Bloom 2026 is supported by several organizations committed to advancing women’s leadership and expanding access within Africa’s creative and corporate ecosystems. Key partners include Tolaram Group, Flying Fish, MISKAY, Hip TV, Audio Girl Africa, Echoo Room, and Severe Nature, alongside other collaborators who share a vision for equity, representation, and sustainable industry growth.

As conversations around International Women’s Day continue to emphasize the need for accelerated action and structural change, Sony Music West Africa views Bloom & Bloom as more than a moment of recognition. The initiative is designed to transform visibility into meaningful value by creating opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and long term institutional development.
By bringing together women across generations and industries, the platform reinforces a powerful idea that real progress occurs when influence is shared and opportunities are expanded collectively. Through Bloom & Bloom and similar initiatives, Sony Music West Africa continues to extend its role beyond music, positioning itself as a cultural force committed to equity, innovation, and long term impact across the region.
